Buckbluff (/buckbluff/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Small Town located in Àdachà Karû Kingdom, Qodtian County, within the Kingdom of Helsteria.

The name Buckbluff is derived from the Sylvin language, as Buckbluff was founded by Treshê Brëkê Shèbrêth Èqtho Ludlam, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Buckbluff has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Buckbluff receives an average of 172 cm/y (67 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Buckbluff covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 5136 m (16850 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Buckbluff was founded durring the early 17th century in late winter of the year 1625, by Treshê Brëkê Shèbrêth Èqtho Ludlam. The establishment of Buckbluff suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Buckbluff which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Buckbluff was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Buckbluff is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Buckbluff is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad baked earthen streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Buckbluff's timber-based walls are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Buckbluff makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye.

Civic Infrastructure

Buckbluff has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Buckbluff.

Buckbluff has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Buckbluff has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Buckbluff has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Buckbluff's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Buckbluff has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Buckbluff has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Buckbluff has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Buckbluff's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

In Buckbluff all of the cats speak the local language with prefect diction.

The Snake, Venomous near Buckbluff are known to be quite timid.

Buckbluff's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves square dance to channel Transmutation energies of tier 3 via chanting.

History

Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Buckbluff is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami ended a famine plaguing Buckbluff. One of Buckbluff's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
